Will Hydrogen power be a part of what Thomas L. Friedman, in his book "Hot, Flat and Crowded" calls "the energy climate era?" Why does he never mention hydrogen? Is it just a pipe dream?
This conference presentation by video is a couple years old, but back then it sure seemed like hydrogen had a great future as a clean energy source. Did the argument that a hydrogen powered future 'would require a massive capital investment to transform the current infrastructure' eventually do it in?
Just wondering.

"Rumors of 76 years of "icy" relations confirmed by IAU's downgrade of now former planet"
Amid ugly allegations about Pluto's "size," former plutonian admirer IAU parts ways with, as it says, "the dwarf." Bolstered by the clear evidence of Pluto's intractable relationship with a certain "Charon" and the former planet's longstanding wayward path, IAU stepped out of its former relations with the planetoid declaring that it was but one of many with a heart of ice and stone.
---------------------------
My news station did a very facile piece on Pluto's demotion (which I shot, thank you, thank you.) One scientist tried to reassure us, "think not of Pluto as a former planet, but as the first of it's kind to be discovered, with many more to follow." If that helps in any way to salve the wound, I'm not sure. Another suggested a new mnemonic of eight planetary bodies that seems appropriate considering the discovery of Pluto was made by New Mexican Astronomer Clyde Tombaugh: "Mark's Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nachos" but my favorite is: "Many Very Educated Men Justify Steeling Unique Ninth."
here's a link to my story: http://krqe.com/video/expanded.asp?ID=4 822
My personal opinion is that this is just the progress of of science and classification so get over it, but what a fun thing to happen! I love it.

I recently applied for a job at a competing broadcast station in my market but only because the position would have been soo sweet. I love the people I work with but I'm often, no, Daily, required to drive 120 miles round-trip between Albuquerque and Santa Fe because "there are no stories in Santa Fe" (where I live) yet both competing networks have full-time Photographers that work locally. Yes, I chose to live here, and No it doesn't hurt the station that I'm positioned 1 hour north of any other shooter that they employ. "Breaking News" has a very short shelf-life and proximity is crucial. To the point, this other job offered many strong aspects and I was a perfect fit for the job. Too perfect? I don't know. I didn't get the job and I find myself going over the process of losing it again and again in my mind... "How did i fuck that up?" It was mine for the taking... :-I

I took this survey a while ago. (at least two months.) And when I signed to live journal tonight, here were the results, saved and inserted into my journal... thanks live j o u r na l.
I have to say that the results resonate with me, while not being acurate at how I perceive myself. In my opinion, I'm far more reliant on fact and rationality. here are my test results.
PROGNOSIS:
Postmodernism is the belief in complete open interpretation. You see the universe as a collection of information with varying ways of putting it together. There is no absolute truth for you; even the most hardened facts are open to interpretation. Meaning relies on context and even the language you use to describe things should be subject to analysis.

Rushing to the scene of a car wreck.
The above statement is also the my daily job description. Sans car crash, on Saturday I rushed to South East (dangerous) Albuquerue to interview a very drunk man about the two decomposing goats that he found dumped at the car wash. The flys buzzed. While redirecting the interview back from the edges of bizarre, hail stones of biblical proportions began assaulting cars, goats and craniums all around. So now I'm standing in a car wash with three shitfaced new mexicans calling me "sweetheart." "Ya wanna beer guero?"

OK I'm new, and that's... OK. Frankly I can't yet find my way around this intriguing site. Any hints? I have some old friends that are members and I'm hoping to renew those connections. Much Love, Core
